Editor's Corner

Hi, my name is Cale (K4HCK) and I'm the editor of Amateur Radio Weekly.

The most-clicked link from last week's newsletter was the news of eBay restricting listings of radio equipment. eBay eventually clarified that Ham-band gear would be exempt from the new rules.

Amateur Radio Weekly is back to full strength this week after a fantastic time at both Zero Retries Digital Conference and Pacificon. ZRDC26 brought together a wonderful set of speakers from old school packet players to the latest updates from M17 and DigiPi. Glen Popiel (KW5GP), the author of Digital Networking for Ham Radio gave a great overview of the current crop of microcontroller boards. Beyond the talks, it was great to connect with everyone in-between sessions and over lunch. I also presented! Presentation recordings will be available in a few weeks and will be shared here.

Huge thanks to Steve and Tina Stroh for putting on an incredibly professional event.

The next day was my first time attending Pacificon. It's a great hamfest and we had a good steady stream of people making their way past the booth. Shoutout to those that signed up for Amateur Radio Weekly at Pacificon and are reading for the first time. I hope you enjoy what you find here.

ARRL Director Elections

Voting for ARRL Director positions is about to begin in some sections. If you're a current member, please take a moment to submit your ballot electronically or by mail when you receive it.

Amateur Radio is in an exciting era of innovation, and the ARRL plays a vital role in protecting our spectrum.

I personally know one of the candidates for Great Lakes Division Director, Michael Kalter (W8CI). He works tirelessly to support Amateur Radio. You can read his platform statement on his QRZ page.
