Editor's Corner

Hi, my name is Cale (K4HCK) and I'm the editor of Amateur Radio Weekly.

The most-clicked link from last week's newsletter was DX Zone's summary of the new JTTY keyboard text mode released as part of the WSJT-X suite of tools. It's currently being used as FT8 without the time slot requirements, but it has the potential to be so much more and I think Marxy is on the right track with JttyChat. We need a text mode where we ditch the old CW short codes and just chat like normal people.

Zero Retries Digital Conference is next week! I'll be presenting at ZRDC26 with a focus on New Tech Hams, an emerging persona in the hobby that is disrupting a lot of the old trends we might be familiar with, from voice modes to radio clubs. Tickets are still available if you're thinking about attending last minute.

I'm also attending Pacificon and will be sharing a booth with Zero Retries. Stop by to say "Hi" and grab a sticker.

General feedback regarding this newsletter or the content within is always welcome. Got a link to share? Simply hit reply.
